Bowfell from Old Dungeon Ghyll in Great Langdale

After spending Sunday in the Lakes with Hester, Harry and Wallace on various adventures and camping over night at the Great Langdale National Trust campsite, for our Monday morning run we decided to 'whiz' up Bowfell and back. Our route went out via Mickleden and the Rosset Gill track towards Angle Tarn, then hooking south on a direct line up to the summit of Bowfell, following the Bob Graham 'back scuttle' trod under Hanging Knotts, before trotting back down via the Band. A beautiful run, albeit with things being darn tooting claggy on on the tops. Harry and Wallace absolutely loved it, as they did their swim afterwards at Skelwitth Bridge and their follow up swim after that in Coniston Water with me. Hester also tried her hand at a bit of film shooting of me and the boys playing stone chucking as we trundled down the Band - Stephen Spielberg eat your heart out!
