My eleventh and twelfth runs up Pen y Ghent........

.....this year.

In 2013 Pen y Ghent was my most run up hill of the year with 13 visits but this year is completely knocking last year into a cocked hat - thus far I've now already been up there a dozen times and nine of those have been in the past six weeks, ever since moving to the Horton Hobbit Hole in fact. Never mind a mere 13 runs up Pen y Ghent, it could be 50 this year!! I wonder if I can do a full week of running up Pen y Ghent each day? Hmmm....

This weekend was Hester's turn to move in to the HHH (a huge undertaking comparable logistically with the D-Day landings) so there wasn't really time for anything too long on the running front. Me and Hazzer therefore stayed close to home (Pen y Ghent then) and did a 12 mile loop of the 'Horton Skyline' on Saturday morning, running in a wide circle over Pen y Ghent to the east, down to Helwith Bridge and then over Moughton to the west. On Sunday we did our bog standard 9.5 mile loop of Pen y Ghent, Plover Hill and Whitber Hill. Both days our runs were done and dusted by mid-morning leaving me plenty of time to travel over to Masham to help Hester with her packing, do umpteen visits to the local dump and not forgetting her insisting on the painting of her old living room just before moving out! Huh?

Anyway Hester's move went pretty well all things considered and she is now all installed in Horton and will soon be running up Pen y Ghent with me and the boy..... week in, week out ☺︎

Pen y Ghent here we come

Pen y Ghent runnable all the way up of course

On Saturday there were about a million walkers doing the 3 Peaks!

Batman and Robin now on Moughton

Ingleborough viewed from Moughton

Moughton is a 'bit' limestoney in places then!

Sunday now and we've done Pen y Ghent and are already heading for Plover Hill

An ever so slightly contrived selfie - with Harry in the background
