Spring goes bonkers in Wharfe Woods

A truly beautiful 11 and a bit mile run with Hes and Haz yesterday in a loop from home out to Wharfe Woods, via Smearsett Scar, and then coming back via the hamlet of Wharfe and Capple Bank. Wharfe Woods by the way, at this time of year, are just one great big, fabulous show of wild spring woodland flowers - there were at least five billion primroses out yesterday for example and a few billion wood anemones too and, although the bluebells were starting to show, they will at their best in another week or so. And Wharfe (and Oxenber) Woods have to be seen to be believed when the bluebells are fully out! 

Hester, being a truly brilliant artist and all (check out her web site here if you don't believe me) means that she can take 'the odd' stunning photograph too and, yes, okay, I admit to borrowing a few of her pictures below. 

We obviously have to return for the bluebells shortly...
