On Saturday me and the boy Hazzer got up early and whizzed over to Rothswaite in Borrowdale to run the 4 Lakeland Passes, an LDWA (Long Distance Walkers Association) event that goes over 4 Lakeland passes funnily enough - starting from Borrowdale it goes over Styhead Pass and into Wasdale then over Black Sail Pass and into Ennerdale, over Scarth Gap Pass to Buttermere and finishing off with Honister Pass back to Borrowdale. A glorious 18 mile or so route in totally stunning weather, with a fabulous contrast to the weather when we last did this route at the end of March. Unfortunately we were pushed for time and therefore set off five minutes after the walkers with the runners supposedly starting an hour later - this did however mean that me and harry reached all the checkpoints first and finished first too. A win then!!
Fantastic organisation and a good helping of pie and beans followed by cheesecake in the village hall at the end
