For our final day Hester had left us with the small matter of the best part of 25 miles of trogging and 4,000 feet of climb/descent. And to make it interesting it was rocky and bouldery pretty much all the way (not dissimilar to the terrain on Kinder Scout to my way of thinking). This made for some difficult running.... and difficult walking. And it was another beautiful and warm sunny day for us to toast under.
Never-the-less we made it okay with Hester's mum, who lives in Penzance, handily available to pick us up and take a picture of the team at the end. 140 and a bit miles (plus various side track excursions) and 23,000 feet of ascent (11,500 of which were on the first two days). We all had some aches and pains at the finish including the boy Hazzer who took two whole days to recover before he was up and at 'em and being a (loveable) pain in the ass as usual.
